Walter "JP" Peters has been with UCF since 1998, when he transferred from Valencia Community College and began working for Course Development and Web Services as a Techranger, troubleshooting issues with WebCT. From there, JP moved on to develop the web site for the Office of Transfer Services under Dr. Mark Allen Poisel. In 2000 he took a position under Tony Travaglini in the former College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) as a part-time then full-time computer technician. In May of 2003, JP became the Technology Manager for CAS. Once CAS was dissolved, JP joined the newly-formed College of Sciences in October 2005 as Technology Director.
JP currently oversees all technology aspects in the college, including network/systems administration, helpdesk, instructional resources, web/graphic design, marketing, and special projects.
JP graduated in 2001 with a BS in Computer Information Technology, and later in 2007 with an MBA. He is married (June 08), and is a huge Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.
While a graduate student at UCF, he partnered with former co-worker Scott Thompson to form a DJ Entertainment company, JNS, inc. JNS performed at myriad functions on campus, including football games and greek and charity events.
